My stay at The Westin Miyako Kyoto had its highs and lows. The great location near the subway and temples really stood out, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. However, I encountered a strange scented air issue that bothered my allergies, and the value didn't quite measure up to the price. Overall, it's a good hotel, but it could use some improvements.

Rooms

I appreciated the spacious city view room and the fantastic shower, which is classic Westin. However, the overall facilities felt dated compared to other hotels I've stayed at.
Service

The staff were friendly and professional. I had a warm welcome even late at night, which made a positive impression on me.
Location

The location is excellent, just around the corner from the subway and within walking distance of several attractions. A great base for exploring Kyoto.

I loved the breakfast buffet which offered a lovely variety of both Japanese and Western dishes. The only downside was the club lounge experience, which was disappointing.

The gym and spa facilities were impressive, particularly the outdoor onsen. However, the business lounge was lacking, and some areas need more attention.

I had a wonderful stay at The Westin Miyako Kyoto. The beautiful views of the city from my room were a highlight, and the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. However, due to ongoing renovations, some amenities like the gym were closed, and getting to my room involved navigating two elevators and a long walk. Overall, I’d definitely return once renovations are complete.

The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but the free shuttle service was very convenient. Plus, it’s within walking distance to some beautiful temples.
Dining

The breakfast buffet offered a huge variety of both Western and Japanese dishes, which I loved. The dining options were great, although some restaurants were unavailable due to renovations.

Amenities such as the public onsen were fantastic, although I wished they opened earlier. The hotel also had beautiful gardens to explore.

My stay at The Westin Miyako Kyoto was fantastic! The location was perfect for exploring the Higashiyama temples, and the picturesque views of the mountains added to the charm. While I found that the room could get a bit cool, especially during the cold spell in March, the cozy, comfy bedding made for some restorative sleep. A couple of downsides were the higher prices in the restaurant and the lounge's limited hours, but overall, it was a beautiful experience where luxury meets convenience.

The Westin Miyako Kyoto offered a good blend of modern luxury and traditional Japanese character. The spacious rooms boasted beautiful city views, especially from the city view suite. However, the layout of the hotel felt a bit overwhelming at times, with many turns to navigate.

My Junior King Suite was well-appointed, featuring a lovely view of the city. However, the room did not have a proper desk, which was a bit inconvenient.

The staff were generally professional and friendly, but the service in the cocktail bar was lacking at times. I felt like some areas were understaffed, especially during peak hours.

The onsen was a highlight of my stay, spacious and beautifully designed. However, I wish there were more private spaces within the hotel to relax.

My stay at The Westin Miyako Kyoto was quite nice. The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful, making my experience enjoyable. However, I did find the walls to be quite thin, which made for some noisy nights. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, especially for its lovely amenities and great location near key attractions in Kyoto.

Dining options were varied, but I found some of the prices in the bar and restaurants to be on the higher side. Breakfast in the lounge was a nice alternative to the busier restaurant.
